The administrative team here at RDCEA
gladly and with overwhelming excitement, welcomes Interstate Battery as a
vendor with the association. This is a wonderful opportunity for both members
and Interstate Battery to build a long lasting and profitable relationship.
Interstate Battery currently offers over 15,000 products. We have also included
some history and future information about Interstate Battery as a company.
In the spring of 1950, John Searcy began
selling and delivering car batteries to wholesalers in the Dallas-Fort Worth
area from the back of his red Studebaker pickup truck. After two years, Searcy
founded his new company and named it Interstate Battery System. He based his
business on high principles: offer the best-quality product, provide impeccable
service and treat the customer with respect.
By the 80s, Interstate celebrated the
milestone of having distributorships in every one of the 50 states and in
Canada. Today you can even find our distributors in Puerto Rico, the Dominican
Republic and Guam! Our product line also expanded to include commercial,
marine/RV, motorcycle, snowmobile, golf car, wheelchair, lawn & garden and alarm
batteries.
Along the way, the Interstate brand surpassed Sears to become the #1 automotive
replacement battery brand in North America — a title we still hold today, now
selling about 13 million batteries a year. Today, the Interstate system
continues to grow as the integrity of our business programs proves timeless. We
have more than 300 Interstate Batteries distributors who serve more than 200,000
retail outlets where consumers can purchase Interstate batteries.
In
response to growing market demands, Interstate Batteries has created Interstate
All Battery Centers, which offer batteries for cell phones, cordless phones,
watches, tools, laptops, cameras, camcorders, toys, remotes and more. Consumers
can now count on Interstate to provide Every Battery for Every Need.
While Interstate Batteries has evolved in many ways since 1952, the most
important contribution to our success comes down to good, old-fashioned business
principles. And as Interstate Batteries faces the future, we’ll stay true to
those principles and continue to uphold our reputation to our customers.
